Today is an exciting day for Americans and Wisconsites alike. Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States not only brings change to America, he brings stylish footwear. It has been customary for Presidents to wear Port Washington based Allen Edmonds shoes when they swear in at the inauguration. You might not be able to tell if he is wearing the shoes today, but you will by able to see the color, Black.

RUMOUR MILL: "Is it true Harry? "Harry W. Schwartz going out of business.

Rumour Status: True

A little bird told me that Harry W. Bookstores are going out of business come this February 2009. That is quite sad if true and I might have to take the week off if that is the case; first a case of the blues, then wine, then the mean reds, then I dunno... old movies and swiss chocolate night.

What will we do with our time? Is Quimby's worth the drive?

HWS is one of the few proud local institutions where 

you can browse, meet people and drink good coffee with friends. It's lovely. So no matter if it is true Harry, I'll forgive you if it is not, and definitely will remember you long after you go out of business, because class like yours NEVER goes out of style. iHeartHarry.

As words of consolidation, it looks like the store might open under new management and this institution will be sorely missed. More

Gallery Night

Gallery Night is my favorite night because it lasts all day, then all night, then all day again :)

I checked it out, saw beautiful people and art as well as had a chance to stop by Swig for drinks with friends. I rather enjoyed Swig, the decor is unique and it has a friendly staff. It is also perfectly located in the 3rd ward which I like very much.
